It appears that when copying text and images from a web site, the text will paste fine and leave a box for the image that does not get added which can be done as a separate item and will copy, but will not copy with the text as part of the entire document. I do not know if MS Word does it this way or not, but i know it is an issue here and creates a lot of extra work.

Copying the content using CTRL + SHIFT + V might solve your problem. If you copy an image from a browser using CTRL + SHIFT + V then you will get the option to insert it as a bitmap instead of HTML.

Well, it looks weird for me, because it happens that in my computer Ubuntu 11.04 really works the copy and paste even images... The tips will be update the system maybe in that way you can. By the way, in minimalistic distribution (Bodhi Linux 1.2) it doesnt work too, Ive been trying everything and never get the copy and paste, till I modified the systems cache options and nothing.

Seems like the same problem as: http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/9961/inserting-a-picture-or-photo-in-a-libreoffice/ Going to mark this one as a dupe, as the other one has a lot more information on it
