Pretty much what the title asks. All captions with the exception of Table have a greyed out and locked display setting, namely to show on the bottom of a figure. However, all of my courses tell me that the correct orientation of such labels must be on top.
Is there any way for me to “unlock” the option to put captions on top?

As you haven’t received an answer yet, it’s possible that LO doesn’t support this feature. Please feel free to file an enhancement bug. Don’t forget to mark your bug as an ‘enhancement’. The QA team will be happy to help you triage your feature request in the bugtracker.

Thanks for the tip, @qubit1. I’m actually a bit intimidated to filing bug requests, seeing how everything’s in a very technical-looking
format and not much visual formatting whenever I look at such requests. Would it be alright if you could point me to a good resource for making such requests?

I might consider filing an enhancement bug for this, but I hesitate when there are in fact two other bug reports that also seem to be addressing this issue. Would it be appropriate to make yet another report, or should I just chime in the current ones?
@TJMeneses – Oh, I probably misunderstood you when you mentioned a “workaround” in the context of the other bug reports

Status: RESOLVED FIXED (LO 4.1.0)
Current status of both fdo#33338 and fdo#36668 is NEW.
Yikes, that’s a pretty dirty workaround. It’s still a workaround, though, and also the best-looking alternative to an actual solution at this point, so I suppose this is the answer to my question.
