Does any one know of a work around for this problem, when I select the comment function in Calc it highlight a a cell 5-6 cells below the one I wish to place the comment in.
Is there a solution or work around for this?
Hi @_dave,
If you think that the current behavior in Calc is a bug, please file a bug about this problem. The QA team will be happy to help you track down this issue!
If you think that this isn't a bug, but would like the option to change the location of the comment box, please file a bug and mark the Bug Severity as "enhancement".
If you do file a bug, please post a link to it in a comment below using the format "fdo#123456".
Thanks!
I think it is supposed to do it like that. It places the comment box a bit away from the cell, so that you can see both the cell and the comment at the same time.
Do you not see an arrow pointing from the comment box to the cell you want to comment?
Compare it to the comment function in Writer...
It is not the comment box itself I am talking about.
When I select a cell to leave a comment, the comment function selects another cell altogether.
For example, if I selected cell b5 to insert a comment, when I do this the cell b14 is where the pointer is at for the comment, while b5 has the little red dot for the comment.
Weird....
