libre office 4 will not install on windows 7 64 bits
The installer stops with the messagebox open, nothing happens anymore.
Tried several times with new donwload no result
I was not able to install because the installer popped up a window saying “Please exit LO3.3 and the LO3.3 Quickstarter…” none of which were open. There is advice somewhere that LO < 3.4.5 need manual uninstall before upgrade. So I tried to uninstall from the control panel, and it failed with the same popup.
The way I managed to uninstall 3.3.5 was to re-run the installer, which happened to be still be in a folder on my desktop called “LibreOffice 3.3 (4e3abdad) Installation Files” , I just doubled clicked the .msi in there, confirmed the scary questions, and when it asked, selected ‘remove’.
That succeeded, and after that the 4.0.2 install went fine.

Sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with the installer. Have you successfully installed any other version of LO on this computer?
The problem could stem from a corrupt installer like this:
Do you know how to check the md5sum of a file? If so, you can grab the appropriate information from this page:
(you can also use that page to try downloading the installer from a different mirror, if you think that might be your problem)
The second link (with md5sum info) is currently a 404.

Have you tried installing as administrator?.
Maybe is a permission issue.
Right click the file and select Run as Administrator.
