Sorting a column but having the rest of the row's data move as well

I’ve got a 9x19 grid, with a column of headings and a row of categories, and wondered if there was some way to sort the data in any column (eg. time) while keeping the rest of the data in the rows (eg. a user’s name, statistics…) associated with the relevant time.

Hi @synergica,

Is there something specific that you’ve tried to do re: sorting that hasn’t worked out for you?

If I select the data in a column and try to sort it, I get a pop-up that asks if I wish to “Extend selection” to include adjacent cells. Choosing the Extend selection option results in sorted rows of data.

Ah, I missed the fact that you had to select ALL data in the table, rather than just the section you wanted sorted. Somehow your comment helped me figure this out. :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks though.

@synergica – if my answer solved your question, please mark it as correct.

I have a question related to this. I have a table that is sorted. I just added more to the bottom of the table, and when I go to sort in Ascending order, my little drop-down button goes to the bottom of the list and messes up the formatting of the table. Is there a way to keep that drop-down there?
