Problem with calc integrated worksheet graph in writer

We have a writer document with integrated calc documents which has a tab with data and a tab with a graph. We can open the integrated calc by double clicking on it in writer. When we navigate to the data tab we can add data to it. But on the tab where we have the graph you can't change the "data ranges" anymore the way you do it in calc.

Hi Anonymous,

I don't know of a way to edit graphs inside Calc documents which are (in turn) embedded in a Writer document. Based on the age of this question, it looks like that might not be (currently) possible.

If you're still interested in this feature, please file an enhancement bug and provide as much information as possible. Don't forget to mark your bug as an 'enhancement'. The QA team will be happy to help you triage your feature request in the bugtracker.

Please post a link to any bugs you file in a comment below using the format "fdo#123456".

Thanks!

hi, I wish more people took the film "Matrix" seriously. A dialogue in it is "...we believe what we want to believe". you wrote "We have a writer document with integrated calc documents which has (1) a tab with data and (2) a tab with a graph. These are related we want to believe. But they are not related they are 2 seperate tabs! If you want a simple dynamic updatable graph there sould be 1 tab with both data and graph. Suggest you copy the data in calc, Insert chart there. And copy all cells with data and chart and paste into writer. Now this is one ole object with data and graph. The reality is data - graph is illusory depiction of that reality

Are you suggesting that 2 separate tabs (sheets) in Calc cannot share data? If I create a new spreadsheet and put data in columns A and B, then create a graph from that data, I can copy that graph into another tab (i.e. sheet), and updating the data on sheet1 will propagate to the graph on sheet2.

qubit is completely right - it isn't a matter of where the graph is placed in the Calc file. Even if you put the graph on the same sheet as the data table, you can't edit the graph properties from inside writer.
