Hello, I opened a bug on bugzilla: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44969
This file I can open with OpenOffice 3.3, LO 3.3 and MS Excel. Problem with opening files more than 1.1 Mb in LO 3.5
This is a regression in LibreOffice 3.4.x and 3.5.x
The bug has already been acknowledged. As any bug submitted the priority depends on the number of people it affects and on the availability of a developer to fix it.
Meanwhile I advise you to keep using LibreOffice 3.3.4 since it is able to handle the files you require.
