So I have an .xlsx file I need to import into Base. It has two tables and I need to create a relationship between the two tables. I can import the file just fine by opening it in Calc first, saving it, then connecting to it when I open Base. However, when I try to create a relationship I get the error “This database does not support relations.”
What do I need to do? What am I doing wrong?
Perhaps you should save it as LO Base file? If you, somehow, open LO Calc file in Base, Calc file does not support relationship as does LO Base file.
I am having the same issue as well. This advice doesn’t solve the problem for me. I recreated my XLSX as a ODS file, imported it into Base and got all the tables. But when I try to run a join or add a relationship, I am not able to because of the same error above.

It’s not that the relations can’t be done, it’s that something goes wrong with the import process, so copying and pasting the tables over helps.
