How do you open multiple documents?

I used to open 3 documents in MS woks 8. I could cut and paste between all 3, but in libre, I can’t open but 1 document.

Also, side question: I didn’t see an option like works had about dictionary, where you could look up the meaning of the word. Does anyone know if you can do that?

Please ask one question per question

I answered my own question; I found out if you open the ‘new’ tab in the top left of a document, instead of trying to open one from the main page, it works, or if you have 2 documents, you can open them and cut and paste. Just like works. Still look forward to a dictionary ‘look up’ feature!

From a file manager like Windows Explorer, Mac Finder or an equivalent on Linux and other OSes, you can select multiple files, right-click and choose “Open” or “Open with… > LibreOffice”. Other than Microsoft Works, LibreOffice will open each file in its own window. You can switch between the windows using OS-defined keyboard shortcuts, or use LibreOffice’s Window menu.

Alternatively, you can open the Open… dialog window from the File menu and select multiple files before clicking the button Open.
