we are migrating from MS Office to Libre Office, but we have many xlsx files that are password protected and we can't seem to open them in Libre Office 3.5.3.2
is this an intended behavior or does it have to do with the xml security schemas used in the xlsx files?

Can you open a bug report with a test document? I think I saw some problems with xlsx documents created with Office 2010. Another idea might be to try it with 3.5.4. I fixed some bugs around the nss initialization that affected windows installations.
