How to make headers from LO editable in MS office?

Hello

I create a header in an odt file with LO (4.0.4.2 under Ubuntu 12.04), then I export the document in .doc format. If I reopen it with LO it is ok (although sometimes it adds carriage retuns within the header for any reason, and it does this at each time you save/reopen it !). But if you open it with MS office (I tried with the 2000 and 2010 versions) the header appears in grey and is impossible to edit.
Is it possible to do somthing in LO to make the header editable for a MS office user (or at least that they can delete it and create a new one in MS office) …
I know that in LO headers and footers are managed via page styles and that Microsoft Office products are not able to deal with it very well. But is it nevertheless possible ? (ie maybe with a header not managed via the page styles ?)

You are completely right (double-click) ! Sorry for this stupid question… 10 years without using MS Office and I don’t remember elementary things like that (and my colleagues that use it every day don’t seems to know it better). Thanks for your help !

I’m on Windows 7 and do not have such problems. Do you know you have to double-click the header to edit it in MS word?

Has your header some special content?
