Old save button was a lot better. You don't have to change things JUST to be different, you should change to make it better. Save button in 3.5 is bad, I offten want to click OPEN button since it's looks more like save button then current one.

People are used to floppy disk save button, change design if you want, but leave is recognizible.

Best regards, Mikeyy

Have you tried to use another icon style? I use Crystal (and large size). Save button is very intuitive there :)

Tools > Options > View : Icon size and style

On Linux you may have to install the icon style. Search for "Crystal".

Thanks. Didn't know you can do that, I'll pick one.

Suggestion to LO team, change save icon on default Tango theme, looks bad and it's not intuitive.

The icon was reverted for 4.0 and later. See http://user-prompt.com/about-antiquated-metaphors-in-icons/

Because young people no longer know what a floppy disk is.

Things change. You can always open a new document by hitting Ctrl+O save as by hitting Ctrl+Shift+S save by hitting Ctrl+S

Things SHOULD change, but not for worse.
