I heard there might be a problem or maybe I'm missing something. Why isn't the formula notation toolbar appearing when I start Math?

If you are refering to Elements window, display it by checking View → Elements.

I found it but this time I don't see the lower side of the window where I should write the formula. Also, typing does not do anything.
