Disable autocorrect just for this part?

Auto-correct is a very handy feature and for many people even almost a necessity, but at the same time probably one of the most annoying and cursed ones.

I am often struggling with exceptions which I do not want to make global, like the parts of code which should definitely not be typed with capitals, double spaces which are actually mend for formatting etc. Sure you can undo the changes made by auto-correct or cleverly use the arrows instead of the space, but than you often find, after printing, auto-correct did at some point correct your correction of auto-correct back.

While it is easy to make parts of the text bold or italic, the function which I have not found to today is how to tell auto-correct to skip this part of the text.

Am I not looking properly, is it well hidden or is there a specific reason why this function is absent?

Apparently it is not possible and there is not an obvious reason why not.

Because I think this would be very convenient for me and many other users I filed a feature request: request: 77568

Let’s see how it will be handled. If you would like the option maybe it helps to subscribe to the request.

Bug 77568 - Add property to turn autocorrect on/off to styles

Why not just disable autocorrect?

because in 90% of the corrections I am glad with the help, just at some points I know it is gonna mesh up my intended text. To me it would make so much sense to temporarily disable it for a few lines, you also do not dismantle your cruise-control because it is annoying in heavy traffic do you?
