I am trying to restore my files lost during a "Refresh" action

I have an ASUS laptop which came complete with Windows 8 and Libre Office. Of late I have been having intermittent problems with Google displaying the message “This page cant be displayed” so, knowing absolutely nothing about computers I looked for a way to solve this, and found I could “refresh the computer without losing any files” so thinking everything would be ok followed the instructions. After it was refreshed, I switched it on to find a few new ASUS icons, not a problem I can delete these later, and all my files along with email google etc. I then noticed ALL my files, including my customer database, accounts etc which had been put together using Libre Office, although itemised were blank and when I click on them get the message “windows cant find the target”. Some of these files are, OXF PNG and ODB files so, how can I get them opened? Would reloading Libre Office help, as its gone too? I am at my wits end with this one and worried that I can only make my good intentions a lot worse. HEEEEEEELLP and pleeeeease, keep it simple.

Your Windows 8 problems rightfully belong on a Windows forum. I would also recommend a Windows 8 user’s guide would be a useful investment to help sort out problems before they occur. Refreshing sounds like a drastic step for some simple Google problem.

I assume that LibreOffice was installed on top of Windows 8 and you have lost the application as part of the “refresh”. You may have lost other applications also that someone installed on your behalf. It is self evident that if LibreOffice is missing you must reinstall it before you can use it. Peter
