Removing trend line text from the key/legend?

When plotting data onto a chart in LibreOffice Calc, are we able to remove the trendline ‘key’ from the legend while retaining the trendline on the graph? In some cases I feel the extra key for the trendline is just adding obvious clutter to the chart.

No, removing the legend entry will remove the whole trend line. You can only change the legend text. As workaround you can hide the legend entry behind a rectangle.

ehhh?! can we request this as a feature? that’s an obnoxious hack, especially if you have multiple trendlines.

OK, the user shouldn’t be patronized by software pretending to be smarter.

But, ehhh, what use in “multiple trendlines” not clearly tagged? The chart shall be easily interpretable in the end, I think.

I think the default, that the trend line is clearly indicated is a very important feature.

In my life I had to look at MANY charts with and without trend lines, most of them charts, which were made by others. Whenever all is clearly indicated I always could read the chart. But when only 1 element was missing I had to guess what this element is. 1 point to guess means 1 point of incertitude…

As for @Watercycle 's wish to have an incertitude added, yes you can place an enhancement request here; https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/?enhancement=yes
