Apologies if there's a button hiding under my nose and I've missed it, but how do I select the best answer to my question?
Update 3: @manj_k notes this bug is FIXED!
Update 2: Bug filed as fdo#51569
Update: @tohuwawohu confirms in a comment below that the button is missing:
As site had a short downtime last weekend to update the askbot software (should fix the upload images bug, but didn't sadly). Since that downtime, the button to "accept" an answer has disappeared.
(And by "best" answer, we of course do not mean the best answer, but an answer that fully answers the question. Just because an answer is the best answer on the question doesn't mean that the question has been answered to the questioner's satisfaction! :-)
The button ☑ mark this answer as correct works again;
→ Bug 51569 - ASKLIBREOFFICE Button to select "best answer" is missing
has been fixed. :)

Addendum "upvote"/"downvote" (2013-03-10)
(1) Original answer

(2) Mouseover "upvote" – green up arrowhead

(3) Mouseover "downvote" – red down arrowhead

@oweng Just to clarify, I understand that I am supposed to mark an answer when I think the question has been answered correctly, as described at the link you provided. I've tried to find the right way to mark answers, but I still don't know how to mark the answer, even on questions that I asked myself.
I'm wondering if there's a bug or misconfiguration in Askbot. I don't think I should need a certain level of karma if I'm the one who asked the question in the first place, right?
I think "bug or misconfiguration" is a good guess. Ths site had a short downtime last weekend to update the askbot software (should fix the upload images bug, but didn't sadly). Since that downtime, the button to "accept" an answer has disappeared.

Hmm... I wonder if this is the reason why we have so many open questions that still appear as "Unanswered."
qubit ( 2012-06-28 17:16:40 +0200 )edit@ qubit. Yes, that is why. Refer http://ask.libreoffice.org/question/11/why-are-answered-questions-showing-up-as/
oweng ( 2012-06-29 06:55:41 +0200 )edit@qubit, I'm afraid that is not the issue. The button was available for months (before the update). The problem is that users want instant answers and if that doesn't happen they go away and never check back (let alone tag the correct answer)
Pedro ( 2012-07-06 17:55:18 +0200 )edit@Pedro. Okay, the update is not the whole problem, but it's definitely part of the problem, and for all of the questions that I've asked and that I'm unable to mark as answered, it's exactly the problem.
qubit ( 2012-07-06 17:57:20 +0200 )editP.S. bug fdo#51569 is marked high-priority and critical, and hasn't seen any update in a week. Is our triage system not working?
qubit ( 2012-07-06 18:03:35 +0200 )edit@qubit, there is a huge lack of people doing QA and triage. This is a Developer driven project. I will email an AskLibO admin ;)
Pedro ( 2012-07-06 18:23:23 +0200 )edit@Pedro: fdo#51569 is already assigned to @alexanderwerner; and another AskLibO admin has added a comment...; see also → https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_activity.cgi?id=51569 ;)
manj_k ( 2012-07-06 18:39:52 +0200 )edit@manj_k: yes, I noticed ;) But I'm old school. I still believe a personal email has more weight than an automated CC :)
