(Writer) Page numbering screwed up

Hello!
I’m writing big essay and it needs page numbering when the first page doesn’t need the number and second one needs to start the numbering from 3.
I did “Format → Title page” to get the desired effect. However, when I copy-pasted stuff from another document (FYI it was .doc document) with page numbering, it screwed up. The first two pages, which got copy-pasted have different independent numbering which they got from document B, and next pages are numbered from 3.
I suspect it has something to deal with page styles, but how do I fix this? How do I reset the page style and numbering?
P.S. I’m using Libreoffice Writer 4.2.5 on russian Windows 7

I’ve seen that LibO 4.xx does screw up page numbers sometimes. Try pasting the content from document B in a text editor. This will delere every format. Then copy-paste everything into Writer.
One more thing; How do you make the second page being numbered as page 3? Insert → Page break → Change page number?

On the “Format → Title Page” there’s two menus in a window “Create Title Pages” and “Page Numbering”. “Page Numbering” menu can reset the numbering to a certain number after title page or set a specific number to a title page.
Note, that names of menus may be named slightly different, I’m translating them from Russian.

Odd numbered pages are always placed on the right-hand (recto) page. In this instance the first (non-numbered page) is page 1 and with the second being page 3 a blank page will be automatically inserted between the two in order to ensure page 3 is also on a right-hand page.

I would advise copying over the content in two parts: that for the first page and then that for the remainder of the document. This will assist in keeping the page styles in place. There is a step-by-step guide to page numbering here.
