Automatic list of acronyms

Is there a way to automatically generate an acronym list in LibreOffice?

I am very comfortable with inserting tables of contents, indexes and bibliographies but haven’t worked out a way to create a table of acronyms.

Ideally I would like to insert a tag in the text. If it is the first occurance of that tag then it would be expanded, for example:

“Another Meaningless Acronym (AMA)”

All subsequent occurances of the tag would just put ANA. Then I could insert in the document a table like:

AMA - Another Meaningless Acronym
YAMA - Yet Another Meaningless Acronym
etc.

Thanks.

Hi @pilotsguide,

I don’t know of a way to create an acronym list in LO, but please feel free to file an enhancement bug for this functionality. Don’t forget to mark your bug as an ‘enhancement’. The QA team will be happy to help you triage your feature request in the bugtracker.

Please post a link to any bugs you file in a comment below using the format “fdo#123456”.

Thanks!

An acronym management tool would be very useful indeed. I filed an enhancement request: fdo#67562
