How to create a custom sequence format?

LibreOffice has many standard sequence formats:
1,2,3,4,5,…
A,B,C,D,E,…
a,b,c,…
i, ii, iii, iv, …
and so on.

These sequences formats that can be used in outline numbering, table numberings, …

Can i create a custom sequence format like this:
“Tom”, “John”, “Mary”, “Stephen”, …

and obtain for instance a paragraph “numbering” like this:
Tom) This is the first item
John) Second item
Mary) Third item

I need custom numbering format for headings: G1, G2, G3, T1, T2, T3, T4, …

Any clue?
Thank you in advance.

I think it’s possible a solution setting up a Numbering style, without numbers, putting the text in before.

Those are levels rather than sequences, thus each entry at the same level will have the same leading identifier. Custom sequence numbers are currently not possible. Refer this forum thread.

Right @Oweng, but organizing styles and their levels, indenting in the same place (Position tab), I think could be a solution to the question. And selecting in Numbering-Number Graphics or Linked Graphic it’s possible to select from a file or from Gallery, perhaps more complicated.

Thank you @mariosv for the reply. This does not fix my issue.
@oweng is right, what I need is a custom sequence format that could be used in line numbering, outline numbering, … ad described in the following links:

I am going to vote for the linked enhancement, as I need document sections numbered like this “G”,“O”,“V”,“M”

This is currently not possible. Bug fdo#52048 has been amended (generalised) to include this request. In this manner, user-defined sequence identifiers for ordered lists will hopefully be supported:

  • *, †, ‡, §, ‖, ¶ (alternate footnote number numbering originally reported in fdo#55436)
  • first, second, third, fourth
  • primo, secondo, terzo, quarto
  • x, xx, xxx
  • abc, xyz, mno
