Why can't I use Offset in Calc Graph Data-range?

Selecting a range works fine, but when I enter offset($Sheet1.$D$3,0,0,$Sheet1.$H$1,1) for the data range, the “Ok” button greys out. I thought this was possible, but it doesn’t seem to work? Can Calc do something like this, with dynamic number of data in a chart?

Edit -

Thank you for the response, I’m looking for 1) the link to the bug that describes Calc’s inability to use a function for the range, 2) description of a workaround.

@NoBugs – still looking for an answer? Please let us know if you’re still interested in a solution here.

I’m looking for a solution. Can you provide it?

Because only cell ranges can be used, no formulas, no named ranges.

One option is use a filter to hide the data that you don’t want to see in the chart.

@mariosv – Any chance you could provide a detailed description and help track down the appropriate bug # here (or file a new one?). Thanks!
