I was just playing with an imported docx file and found that adding an image deleted one already on the page? This is a rather curious problem. Any ideas?
Hit F5 to get the Navigator. It will list all the images contained in the document.

The first image being selected it will be replaced by the second one. Solution: Leave the selection first, then insert next image.

The second image has same or (2D) greater size than the first one. Both images are present but only the second one is visible. Solution: Change position … Insert to another position … Cut and paste somewhere else …
