Maybe:
Menu Tools → Options → LibreOffice Writer → View →
Display
☑ Graphics and objects [enabled]

It sounds to me like you want to copy+paste an image from a browser (e.g., Internet Explorer or Firefox). By default, LibreOffice pastes an image copied from a browser as HTML, but you simply want the image to be copied intead of the HTML.

This can be easily achieved; simply use CTRL+SHIFT+V and choose bitmap.
