no background graphics to browse

Some years ago OO used to offer textured backgrounds. Currently when I try Format->Page->Background->As Graphic->Browse there are no options to choose from.

$HOME/.config/libreoffice/3/user/gallery/ isn't actually empty, but none of those files passes the Browse filter.

Do I need to install a separate package? Is there a site for downloading graphics files?

I'm running LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 on Kubuntu 12.04.

Thanks, -jvh

Indeed, there was before a folder where you could chose some textured backgrounds. There is a package you should install, which is openclipart-libreoffice but AFAIK there is no textured background in it. However, there are many sites you can use for graphic resources.

  1. This one for textured background :http://www.grsites.com/archive/textures/
  2. And this one for high quality clip arts : http://openclipart.org/

EDIT : ok, I just found another way. Go to Tools > Gallery. In the newly opened frame, select "Backgrounds". Right-click on the one you want, and then Add > Background > Page

Bingo! That's got it. Tools --> Gallery <right-click> Insert --> Background --> Page

Hidden in plain sight. (Very well hidden.) Much appreciated! -jvh

So, if you wish, you can mark my answer as correct. ;)

That works for me (on Windows) via
Format → Page → Background → As Graphic → Browse...
→ Program_Files\LibreOffice_3.5\share\gallery\www-back.

@hyogapag: Tools → Gallery... works fine, too. :)
