how can i change fonts to english fonts?

the default language is english but the fonts are not

I am not certain that I understand the problem. Which fonts are you concerned about? All the standard fonts in LibO contain the Latin alphabet, numerals and punctuation used in English. Fonts do not have a language but a character set which defines which digital codes match individual characters in the font. LibO uses the Unicode standard which supports currently about 110,000 characters. This also includes the American US-ASCII (127 characters) and ISO-8859-1 (255 characters).

Some fonts like wingdings only have special symbols not used in ordinary writing. And, of course, some Asian and other non Latin fonts might not have the latin characters. These may not contain “English” letters.

You can define languages to be used when writing text, but these do not effect the “font language” only the spelling if this is checked. Also the keyboard will be set to some language, but again that does not change the font.

I hope I have not confused you further, but if you explain your problem in more detail, someone may be able to help…Peter

got it… thanks
