While editing a document, I noted illustrations were deleted. Then I received a flash notice saying a crash occurred, but I could continue a short time after being told "obsolete package versions are installed." The auto report function failed. Luckily, I was able to limp away, hopefully losing no more than those most valuable illustrations.

Data-loss bugs are taken pretty seriously. Is it possible that the illustrations were linked (not embedded?) and either the document or the images had changed path on disk?
