is there a way to import extras ie. clipart etc. into common libre office

there doesn't seem to be a way to import the extra add-ons from MS Office like you can import photoshop filters into gimp.

There's a lot of clip art you can use in LO. Here's a page from Ubuntu Help about installing multiple sources of clip art:

One of those sources is from Microsoft:

Open Clip Art is a popular site:

Even if you're not using Ubuntu or a GNU/Linux machine, you should be able to download clip art from these sites.
