How can one paste an image embedded rather then manually breaking the link afterwards?

I frequently use documents in locations where I’m not connected to internet. Some of these files contain images that I copy from our company intranet. They’re automaticly pasted as links. It’s rather annoying that there is no clear option in the Extra-Options-… or elsewhere to choose how you want to paste: linked or embedded.

Forget to break the link of 1 image and then imagine yourself in front of a board with a placeholder displayed in the middle of your screen.

Please tell me I’m just overlooking the button.

It sounds to me like you want to copy+paste an image from a browser (e.g., Internet Explorer or Firefox). By default, LibreOffice pastes an image copied from a browser as HTML, but you simply want the image to be copied intead of the HTML.

This can be easily achieved; simply use CTRL+SHIFT+V and choose bitmap.

Is there not a way to set it as default ??
