When I import a Word .doc file into LO 3.6.1.2 I get all black boxes where jpeg files were inserted. Is there a setting I am missing? Graphics are enabled in SWriter both in view and print. If I save the graphic to a separate file it is still all black.

Also just found out that resolution seems to have an effect. I have tried to import on two different systems - both Win7 Pro. In one system I can delete the black boxes that are imported and can add a photo back and it appears. In the other system where the screen resolution is lower I cannot add all photos but one that we tried was taken with a phone and we could add that one. The photos are all jpegs. I tried a smaller photo existing on the rogue system and it would not add - only the one taken with a phone.
