When I download a microsoft .doc, .xls or .ppt file from a web site the returned page/ screen image is black. What can I do so that the page is correctly rendered for me to view?

You can do this with Firefox / Browser open, Edit - Preferences - Applications - then set the MS applications to Libre Office Default
