Unlike microsoft version I see no" start from beginning" for slide show
Yes, in LO it's a two steps process. Select the first slide of your slideshow, then hit F5.
the difference between LO and PowerPont can be regarded as a question of preference. I prefer the LibO way rather then the MS way.
maybe you can set up a key command or macro which lets you start with the first slide
