Equations of Lines on Charts

Is it possible to create a chart that shows data points and an additional (custom) line? Basically, I need to make a scatter plot that shows a specific data set and also a (not exact) line of an exponential equation. I can get it to show the data but I can't figure out if there is a way to add an additional line or not.

Thank you for your help!

You can't add a line by specifying a custom equation (you can only fit the trend lines available e.g. linear, logarithmic, etc).

But there is a workaround: create a XY (Scatter) plot where the first series is your point data and the second series is the Y values resulting from applying the custom equation. Choose Point Only (and check the Smooth lines box), then select a point from your second series, right click and Format Data Series, tab Line, Line Style Continuous, Icon No Symbol.
