How to export an image from an odt (writer) file?

I have a picture within a writer .odt file and would like to save it as image file.

What is the easiest way to achieve this ?
(under Linux if this matters (and if possible independend of any desktop mechanism provided by KDE/GNOME/…)

Do I need to copy + paste it into DRAW
or can I save/export right away from the WRITER ?

Thanks a lot!

If I select the image and go to FILE → Export and I check the “Selection”(only) box, I cannot choose any image format, but only .PDF, .Xhtml and .xml …

OK … if I copy the image.

Just open the context-menu on the graphic and it will show a “Save graphics” option.

An alternative way (for images that are embedded into the document, but you can always use Edit|Links → break links to convert linked ones to embedded ones) is to open the odt document in a zip-program and copy the images from there directly.
