Default window size?

When opening LO in Linux for the first time (3.5.4.2 and 3.6.2.2), it opens in the size of window that I used last, which it should remember and which is what I expect. However, it insists on coming up in the middle of my monitor, and I keep having to move it back to the right side, where I usually keep it. It does not remember that.

The initial document I open comes up in a window the size of what I used last. This is again what I would expect. Subsequent windows again open in the middle of the screen, and in windows slightly smaller, requiring that I resize them.

The styles window (which I leave floating) insists on coming up on the right side of my editing window. If I move it to a vacant part of the monitor (which I usually do), and then close it, it does not remember where it was, and comes up again on top of my editing window on the right side.

Can anything be done to make LO remember what it was doing last with these windows? Is there a setting somewhere?

Thanks.

Frank.

What exactly do you do to open LibO?
How do you open a LibO document?

I have an icon on my desktop that I double-click that opens Writer, not the generic LibO app. Opening subsequent documents is done with file | open, and then select one or more from the file picker.

Hi @FrankB1,

It’s possible that this isn’t possible with our current feature set (although perhaps someone will come along with a good suggestion for you

Thanks!

I wish I could even make mine (mac osx) open with the last window size I was using. When I open a new document, it is in the original program default size and I can’t find any setting to change it.

I have the same problem.

This was never fixed but the new bells and whistles are so shiny!
