Any plan regarding pen support?

I would love to take class notes with LibreOffice, but it lacks digital inking. Do you know if there’s any plan for adding pen support? (I wouldn’t mind using drawing tools, but the freehand is slow, it modifies your lines, and for each line you make a box appears, which is very disturbing. It’s literally impossible to use for that purpose)
It would also be a very useful tool for reviewing documents and to modify math expressions (it would be easy to use the pen to cancel a math expression to zero for example).

I don’t really care much about importing from office (though, I think it’s good you have it), I want to make my own annotations.

There are plans to import ink annotations from DOCX and RTF documents (available when using Word on a Tablet PC). See http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.0

So does it mean Libre-Office 4.0 will have support to display Digital Ink’s created with MS Office ? And we cannot be able to write with our pen inside Libre office?

Hi German,

I don’t think the latest release has any additional support for creating new annotations, but please feel free to update and test it out.

Please file an enhancement bug and provide as much information about what you’d want to see with ink annotations as possible. Don’t forget to mark your bug as an ‘enhancement’. The QA team will be happy to help you triage your feature request in the bugtracker.

Please post a link to any bugs you file in a comment below using the format “fdo#123456”.

Thanks!
