If I view a document (Usually ODT) in a Linux LO install, spell check will no longer work in windows for that document. I think the reverse may also be true. I live in Canada and always confirm that the spell checker is set to Canadian language with spell check enabled. I have tried changing it to US English with spell check but it doesn't seem to fix the problem either. Why does this happen? Is there a way to fix it? I usually use Ubuntu and Windows Vista/7.

No idea what could caus this - please file a bug at https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug and attach a sample document (the smaller, the better) in the two versions to reproduce the problem, i.e. one where spell checking still works on windows, and another copy after saving with Linux and spell checking no longer works. With those two documents, the cause can be identified more easily than trying to guess what might be wrong...
