Writer 6.1 -- add to dictionary?

Added OS info to version

   Version: 6.1.4.2
   Build ID: 9d0f32d1f0b509096fd65e0d4bec26ddd1938fd3
   Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
   Locale: en-CA (en_CA.UTF-8); Calc: threaded

Previous to this version, I could right-click on a spelling ‘error’ and choose ‘add to dictionary’. In 6.1 it is not in the context menu dropdown, and the option button is grayed in the spelling dialog.

Working here with LO 6.1.4.2 on Win 7 Pro, x64.

What is your OS?

Do you have the “standard [All]” user-defined dictionary enabled in OptionsLanguage SettingsWriting Aids?

@BigRA Linux. Added info to question.

@mike-kaganski It says “standard[English(USA)]” and a few others.

This seems to have been a problem with Ubuntu 18.04 or the kernel version. On my Ubuntu 19.04 installation, the 6.1.4.2 ‘add to dictionary’ function is working.

I had this problem as well with 6.1.3.2.

I went into
“options” in spell check and added my own dictionary–call it anything you like–I used “myinitials-added”. Then I tried spell check again and the “add to dictionary” was no longer greyed out and the word was added. I now have 4 dictionaries listed. The 3 included on installation and “myinitials-added”.
