Writer: Character style, font name fails but size and style OK

It might be a bug, but I might be doing something wrong so let’s tackle that first.

To create maths steps (very simple equations, e.g. a + b = c) in my documents, I use a maths_step paragraph style (Times New Roman, Italic, 12pt) for the equation/step followed by a tab (set almost to the right margin) and insert a Number range field (maths_ref_id) using maths_ref character style (Arial, Regular, 10.5pt) so that I can reference the step later in the following text, say,

: ~~ ~~
:f + g = tan(h) --TAB–> [3]
: ~~ ~~
: ~~ ~~ which is derived as in step [3] ~~ ~~

Although Writer can set the maths_ref character style font style and size to the desired format, it fails on the font itself, which resolutely stays Times New Roman instead of changing to Arial.

Thank you for your help.

Check the LO Maths Manual - it is comprehensive.

Thank you, you are correct, it is comprehensive, and the manual is right, the steps are simple but obscure. However, I have had a play but I can’t get the same level of typographic control over a maths_step as I can in vanilla Writer (which I find simpler to use), so I will stick with that and file a bug report for the font name problem.
