Go to settings and enable the Chromebook Beta. You cannot install LibreOffice unless you do this. Now open a terminal. Type in sudo apt-get install libreoffice and it will give you LibreOffice ou5. This will NOT update to LibreOffice 6 because the correct repository is not yet added. For all linux apps you use the terminal to install.
