Have There is currently no method of vertically centring text content within a look at this answer page (this is not supported by @oweng: http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/16307/how-do-i-vertically-center-text-in-a-label/the ODF v1.2 specification). You will need to place your text within a Frame:

  1. Insert > Frame....
  2. Ensure Width is set to Automatic and Height is set to AutoSize.
  3. Set Position to Horizontal > Center > Entire Page and Vertical > Center > Entire Page.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Enter your text.

Adjust as required.
