Am I mistkaken, or there is some workaround?
What I'd want to accomplish is basically the same that is asked [here](http://superuser.com/questions/316762/creating-an-excel-range-out-of-disjoint-cells) for Excel.

https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/24816/is-it-possible-to-use-disjoint-cells-for-irr-range/?answer=25054#post-id-25054With spreadsheet data there is usually a workaround. While the "range" is an array, and thus contiguous, what is important is that the "range" component (investment amount or subsequent return payments) *only* contain related data and not extraneous values, which I think is reasonable. Here are two examples, one in contiguous cells and one where the required values have been extracted from a series containing unrelated values e.g., a bank statement:

I have used a basic match against a description column to pull out the related ("return") values in the second example. The two rate of return formula are `=IRR(C3:C8)` and `=IRR(E12:E23)`. Note that bug fdo#40460 indicates that this particular financial function does not always work as expected.Sun, 10 Nov 2013 11:30:34 +0100https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/24816/is-it-possible-to-use-disjoint-cells-for-irr-range/?answer=25054#post-id-25054
