First of all, let me take the chance to thank each one of your for reading my post and assisting me with my dilemma.
I require assistance with a conditional formatting formula.
I want to parse each word or segment in my spreadsheet so that only vowels and semivowels (a, e, i, o, u, y, and w) are made bold.
For example, if my spreadsheet contains these words, I want them to show up in the spreadsheet automatically as such:
1. star -> st(**a**)r
2. hap-py -> h(**a**)p-p(**y**)
3. birth-day -> b(**i**)rth d(**ay**)
4. wel-come -> w(**e**)l-c(**o**)m(**e**)
5. in-for-ma-tion -> (**i**)n-f(**o**)r-m(**a**)-t(**io**)n
If someone could please assist me with this, I would be more than grateful.
Thanks again!VittorioMon, 26 Nov 2018 17:08:15 +0100https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/173889/Conditional Formating based on matching columns?https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/93402/conditional-formating-based-on-matching-columns/Hello,
I have a list of numbers in column A, names in B, and a secondary list of numbers in C. I am trying to make a conditional formatting formula that will change the text color in B If any of the corresponding numbers in A match C...
I've got $C$2:$C$1000=$A$2 but its not working correctly...Any ideas? Thanks in advance! ForcedLibreUserMon, 24 Apr 2017 23:52:40 +0200https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/93402/Calc - conditional formatting based on month value from datehttps://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/88768/calc-conditional-formatting-based-on-month-value-from-date/ One of the columns in my Calc spreadsheet is the date of each transaction, with the number type set to 'date'. I want these date cells to be grouped by having a background colour based on the month value - so all cells containing dates in January have one colour, those containing dates in February another colour, etc.
I thought I could use conditional formatting with the 'Color Scale (2 Entries)' option and a formula to get this to work but after wasting about an hour on this I haven't been able to get it to work. I'm not sure I understand how this is supposed to work. I've gone through the help documentation but that didn't provide any clues.
Using the 'Conditional Formatting' dialog for the range A3:A1048576 I've selected 'All Cells' and 'Color Scale (2 Entries)'. What formula do I put into the 'Formula' boxes for each colour to achieve this? I've tried '=(MONTH(A3)=1' and '=(MONTH(A3)=12' as the min and max values but there is never any change to the background colour.
What is the correct way to use a formula for specifying a colour scale in the conditional formatting dialog?PheebleTue, 28 Feb 2017 03:25:23 +0100https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/88768/Conditional formatting for HYPERLINK formulahttps://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/64111/conditional-formatting-for-hyperlink-formula/I have a Calc spreadsheet with 10 columns formatted as currency with an 11th column averaging the amount of the preceding 10 (=AVERAGE(Ax:Jx)). To some of the cells in these 10 columns I have applied a HYPERLINK formula linking to webpages, reason being that "Insert > Hyperlink" loses the currency formatting and becomes plain text, rendering the cell useless for the AVERAGE. I have defined a style ("Price hyperlink") for these HYPERLINK cells to differentiate them from non-HYPERLINK cells. So far I have been applying the "Price hyperlink" style cell by cell. Is there a way to apply a conditional format (in this case "Price hyperlink") to any cell with the HYPERLINK formula?
Thanks.gtomorrowMon, 08 Feb 2016 09:30:57 +0100https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/64111/Conditional formatting, two formulas work to colour a row, but not both.https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/50817/conditional-formatting-two-formulas-work-to-colour-a-row-but-not-both/ In Calc, version: 4.4.2.2 and 4.2.8.2. Column B contains a formula which results in the cell containing "Yes" or empty. Column I cells contain a date or empty.
In conditional formatting the formula '$B2="" ' makes the empty rows change colour and the formula 'AND(TODAY()-$I2>1900,$I2<>"")' changes the row colour for dates over 5 years. However I can’t get them to work together.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.stanthesamTue, 19 May 2015 12:21:55 +0200https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/50817/Lose sheet referance in calc formulas and border formatting when I save and reopen spread sheets. Eg. - =SUM('sheet 2.C3:C6) after saving and opening again will appear as =SUM(#REF!!C3:C6)
I have saved sheets in XLS, Xlsx, open office ods.
,!! I just saved sheets in xls and the formulas remained intact ???
The border formatting is still lost in certain parts of the sheets. 1947130Sun, 09 Mar 2014 04:31:17 +0100https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/30929/
