I'm aware that IF statements are not available in Writer, but for what I'm working on, unfortunately imbedded calc tables will not do the job.
I need a series of inputs that will register automatic results upon certain inputs (bonus and penalties for attributes, if you're familiar with tabletop RPG gaming).
For example:
If the number input is 9-12 then the resulting output would be zero ("0").
If the number input is less than 9, then the output would be -1.
If the number input is greater than 12, then the input would be +1.
I'm sorry if I appear to be a newb at this. I am certainly a newb at doing formulas in writer, and have figured out how to do this in Calc, but am still not proficient in most of the formulas beyond these basics. Any help would be most greatly appreciated.SD HoustonSun, 28 Jul 2013 08:05:52 +0200https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/20767/How do I find the differences between two lists in LibreOffice?https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/18393/how-do-i-find-the-differences-between-two-lists-in-libreoffice/Here's my problem: I need to take two lists, each consisting of many tens of thousands of items, most of them identical between the two lists, and find the relatively few new items in the second list.
I posed this question on a tech advice site, asking if any software existed that could do this. One answer I got included a YouTube video where a guy showed exactly how to do it in Excel, using three separate techniques. The first two were "match" and "vLookup".
So my question is: Do either of these two techniques have an equivalent in LibreOffice, and if so, where do I find explicit instructions on how to use them?gravitonSat, 01 Jun 2013 16:53:45 +0200https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/18393/
