Calc formula

Wstrong textstrong text

When I open a spreadsheet created in Open Office (Windows XP) the formulas stop working part way down the page, and the output changes to #value! the rest of the way down. The formulas look right.

I decided that since Open Office Calc works, I simply install it in place of Libre. All is well now! Thanks for your help.

I had a similar scenario/problem, which turned out to be a space appearing in what should have been an empty cell (that was referenced by the formula reporting #value). Unfortunately I didn’t find a quick/easy fix (I eventually found the offending cell), but at least you have a possible source for the error. Per LO’s User Guides:

#VALUE Instead of displaying Err:519. The value for one of the arguments is not the
type that the argument requires. The value may be entered incorrectly; for
example, double-quotation marks may be missing around the value. At other
times, a cell or range used may have the wrong format, such as text instead of
numbers.”

Eward’s comment point in the right direction. I recommend to use additionally the Detective Toolbar to verify if all cells with links to your formula are correct.

Looks like there might be an undiagnosed bug here. If anyone else runs across this problem, please first test against the latest release, and if doesn’t seem to fix the problem, file a bug. It would be really helpful to have an example file attached to the bug report to help us diagnose the problem.
