When I try to access LibreOffice 4.0, I get a circle with a slash. This has never happened before

I tried troubleshooting and was able to access some files, but they would then immediately crash.

Something similar happened to my friend’s dad a while ago and I fixed it by simply updating LibreOffice

Although I must say I also reinstalled W10 to that unused laptop in order to let it like a brand new machine, software wise that is.

Why don’t you try updating to the Still version which is more stable?

I looked the Still version up and found it is a newer version. Is it the free version? And will I be able to access my files in version 4.0?

Why don’t you want to update LibreOffice? Any particular reason?

The Still version is free as every other one, hope nobody have ever tried to take advantage of you by charging you for the software. The company runs on donations mostly.
you will be able to open your documents as this is backwards compatible. I’m guessing your talking about ,doc for .docx and things like that, right?
But if you are still concern you could install the Still version in a different machine and try it before
