Hello, I would like to know how to highlight text in calc. Not change the text colour or the background colour of the cell the text is in, but highlight the text as one would in writer.

Can this be done? If so, how? If not, why not?

NOTE: when I say "highlight", I mean to change the colour directly behind the text (but not the colour of the entire cell that the text is contained within).

Highlight the text to delete / copy it?

Double click on the text for highlight all the cell, double click on the space between texts and drag for highligt a part of text.

Hello @appreciatethehelp,

Highlighting the character background of text content is not working in Calc cells, unless the Calc cell contains a Hyperlink or another Textfield that allows setting the CharBackColor property.
