Why is it that a linked table can’t be deleted. I accidentally added a calc table in a write document and I believe the format was DDE. Well the problem is, this table is completely empty. Furthermore, I can’t delete it. I get the error “The structure of the table can’t be modified”. This is INFURIATING because this is part of a business plan. Am I supposed to start over because this program doesn’t understand how to delete an object. What’s more infuriating is I’ve seen several occasions this issue is brought up but never solved. What happens is the forum closes the link. Oh so I guess hear no evil see no evil.

try to break the DDE link first, then delete the table afterwards.
- In Writer, select the menu “Edit : Links…”
- In the dialog that pops up, select your DDE link and press the button “Break Link”.
