LibreOffice 4: Impress Remote

I recently updated to Libreoffice 4.0.0.3 on Ubuntu, using the package onLibreOffices home page, and wanted to try the Impress Remote function. According to the documentation, I should go to Options → LOI → General and select “Enable remote control”, but that choice doesn’t exist. What am I doing wrong?

Hi @Anjar,

Navigating to Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice Impress -> General, I don’t see an option to enable the remote control either.

I’ll try to figure out the correct procedure for you.

Update: Yes, it looks like the impress remote feature didn’t not make it into the official 4.0.0 build. The reason is as follows:

“at the last minute did we discover that since our base-line distribution we use for builds hadn’t been pulled up (as expected) for our 4.0 release, that we were not compiling 4.0.0 with bluetooth enabled.”

The good news is that there are builds available that include the new code. Hit up the link above for more information.

Please post back to this question with your results, and let me know if the newer builds work for you. That will help other people who experience the same issue.

Thanks!

Yes, it worked! I installed LibreOffice 4.0.1.0, and then the option appeared. Unfortunately, my phone doesn’t connect to Impress, but that’s another problem…
