Are there limits to template contents or size? [closed]

I would like to understand if templates should be used primarily for formatting. That is, would including lots of text and graphics in a template be considered good practice or could it lead to trouble?

That will not lead to trouble. You may prepare as complete document as required for your task, and use it as template.
