How do I regenerate a sheet after removeRange to workaround bug 61109? [closed]

I would like to find some workaround for bug https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61109

Is it possible to call any sheet method to regenerate a sheet after calling removeRange, to get it into such a shape that calling getCellByPosition does not fail?

Looks like nobody has a workaround for this bug at this time...
